Abstract
Cycling continues to play an important role in sustainable transportation and personal mobility across the world. In recent years, electric bicycles, commonly known as e-bikes, have emerged as a modern alternative to conventional bicycles because they combine manual pedaling with electric motor assistance. This study presents a comparison between e-bikes and traditional bicycles by examining factors such as riding effort, speed, maintenance, environmental impact, affordability, and suitability for different lifestyles. The paper relies on existing research articles, transport studies, and industry reports to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of both modes of transportation. The findings suggest that traditional bicycles remain highly effective for physical fitness and low-cost mobility, whereas e-bikes offer greater convenience and accessibility for long-distance. commuting and urban travel. Both transportation options contribute positively toward environmentally responsible mobility systems.
